In this update, we continue to tackle projects in the first design package of the bond proposal. Now that spring is here, baseball season is underway, and team excitement is building about the installation of a new system that will create proper drainage for the baseball field. According to PPHS Head Baseball Coach Derek Vanderburg, “This is a huge project for our baseball program. We have been dealing with field drainage issues for at least the 14 years I have been head coach, sometimes using buckets and shop vacuums to remove water before games. It has been very difficult to get on the field early because of drainage problems, which has forced us to play more away games. The team is super excited to be able to play more games on their home field, which creates a great atmosphere for the players, fans and the whole community!”
The installation of the new drainage system on the high school baseball field, and renovations to the soccer stadium restrooms are slated to begin this summer.
